Waste and Space and Context
Context & Waste Library
After meeting with participants from across the country, we discussed upcycling and reel-based design practices. Throughout the week, we collected discarded materials to build a small waste library. This became a truly collective process; not only the workshop participants, but all gathering attendees and the organization team contributed diligently to sorting and organizing the materials.
Structural Application & Teams
To explore the site's potential, the group was divided into three teams, each developing a unique spatial response. One team focused on connecting key points within the area, another explored the relationship between the two sides of the canal, and the third interpreted scattered waste as a form of spatial intrusion.
Exhibition & Evaluation
The workshop concluded with final presentations and an on-site exhibition. This phase allowed us to evaluate the installations collectively, reflecting on how waste can be repositioned as a primary architectural and design input within its specific context.
